Raise the Lights

Our beloved Carnegie Theatre means so much to us.  Weather you are an alumnus, parent, faculty member, or community friend you know that the spirit of the school is what makes it so special.  We are excited to kick off the opportunity to connect the Carnegie Theatre with the main building that makes up Carnegie Vanguard High School.  Raise the Lights will help make this goal a reality.  Your gift will provide

Annual Plan

The Annual Plan helps subsidize our activities at Carnegie Theatre. Each of our Rhino Productions accrue expenses with set production, costumes, and rental fees of a theatrical projector.  Sadly this year our stored supplies and tools were damaged during the 2018 Summer. We are borrowing specialty equipment and tools until we are able to refurbish our inventory.

Marquee

The Settegast Building is home to Carnegie Vanguard Theatre. It is one of Houston’s rare surviving art deco building. Designed by Moore & Lloyd and built in 1938, the Carnegie Theatre is a former Orange Crush bottling plant.  In 2012, HISD covered the basic renovation costs and CVHS PTO raised $350,000. Our goal is to purchase a much needed theatrical projector and to renovate our  Carnegie Vanguard Theatre entrance.  Design rendorings will be available at a later date.  The theatre entrance will receive a marquee and art deco lighting.  We have underwriting opportunities.  Donors levels over $10,000 will be
